HOW TO SUBMIT
Submissions:
2Bills welcomes you to submit your book proposal and sample chapters. We ask, however, that you do not submit the entire manuscript unless we request that you do so. Business proposals may be submitted by email attachment. Entire manuscripts must be submitted in printed format.
The following information should accompany your query, however it is submitted:
Concept Summary
Summarize in one or two pages what your manuscript is about and what makes it compelling. Include a Table of Contents for a nonfiction title, plus an outline of the manuscript chapter by chapter. Your outline may change over time; nonetheless, it should represent the content and timetable for completing the manuscript. Each chapter heading should have beneath it two or three paragraphs explaining the content of each chapter and how that content moves the book forward. Include information on illustrations and photographs (if any), as well as estimated book length. Attach two or three sample chapters.
Author Credentials
Briefly profile your credentials as a writer and the impetus for writing your manuscript. Include your educational background. Do not be shy here. Include all published material in your portfolio, including magazine and newspaper articles, and explain why you are uniquely qualified to write this book. Also, is there something about your position or background that will help 2Bills sell your manuscript to a publisher and the publisher to sell your book to your target market? (This is known in the industry as the author’s “platform.”) For example, do you give speeches or appear often in the media? Are you affiliated with a company or organization that may purchase copies of your book or help you promote it? Is the subject of your biography a famous person?
Target Market
Who are the primary and secondary audiences for your book and what is it about your book that will make a consumer want to buy it? What is the best way, in your opinion, to reach these audiences? Name competitive titles and explain how your concept is differentiated from them.
